Shirodhara comes from Sanskrit (Shiro = head, dhara = flow). It is a strikingly effective relaxation technique offering profound relaxation to the nervous system through application of warm oil. A stream of oil is drizzled from a special vessel onto the centre of the forehead (the location of the “third eye“).

In Ayurveda, Shirodhara is a rejuvenating and cleansing therapy and is very important for the prevention of many illnesses. The oil application helps to release toxins from the body and also nourishes the body and mind.

To heal light diseases mentioned above, a series of procedures taken at least once a week is recommended, while more serious illnesses require a course from 14 up to 21-days.
